2026 Open Road
Open Road (ART 399) is an Oregon State University photography course led by instructor Evan Baden. Over seven days, the course covers roughly 2,000 miles of backroads across the West. Students work in unfamiliar, sparse places, meeting as many people as they can.
In spring 2026, a group of thirteen traveled north from San Francisco to Newport in a single van along Highway 1 and Highway 101. They stayed in motels and photographed the coast and the communities along the route. Along the way, the class stopped at Cal Poly Humboldt to visit with students there.
DAM Chic Student Magazine
DAMchic is Oregon State University’s student-produced fashion and lifestyle magazine, focused on campus culture and the range of styles seen at OSU. It began as a class project in 2012, grew into a club, and later joined Orange Media Network, OSU’s student media group. Any student can contribute, and members work across specialized teams, including arts, graphics, business, social media, advertising, and marketing. For many contributors, it serves as a hands-on way to build a portfolio and professional network in creative fields.
